Street Trading Saturday

Independent businesses in Banbury’s Old Town will welcome shoppers and visitors from StreetSide on Saturday (July 2nd), in a pilot of a new initiative.
More than 15 independents in Parsons Street, Church Lane, Church Walk and White Lion Walk are getting together for a first Street Trading Saturday.
The mix of shops, cafes and restaurants will trade outside between 10am and 3pm on Banbury Old Town’s first Street Trading Saturday.
One of those involved, Jolyon New at Buywise local appliance and furniture retailers on Parsons Street, says: “I loved the Buzz of the Old Town Party and want to try and help re-create that atmosphere. I think doing something different is what makes independent retailers stand out. Support your local town!”
Andy Aris at SugarRush sweet shop on Church Lane, says: “This gives us opportunity to do something special for the visitors to our town. The atmosphere is always good on Church Lane but days like this make it more vibrant to showcase the independent retailers that Banbury has to offer.”
Jasmine D’Cruz, who owns bespoke handbag company J D’Cruz on Parsons Street, says: “I think it’s a really good opportunity to create a great vibe and atmosphere in the heart of the independent shops; it is wonderful that our community is so supportive too!”
Naomi Perkins, who owns Naomi’s Cafe on Bridge Street and will be popping up in Banbury Old Town as part of Street Trading Saturday, says: “It is important that as independent traders we take to the streets and interact with the town and community as much as possible, as it is the personal touch that sets us apart from the multinational companies. Street trading is fun and brings life to the streets of Banbury. It is also good for business.”
